Josh Gott leads a band of storytellers at Epipheo in Cincinnati, Ohio. Epipheo works with a ridiculous range of clients, from basement and garage startups to lesser-known endeavors like Google, Viacom, and Mercedes Benz. Epipheo comes from the mix of the words “Epiphany” and “Video” and it’s perfected its process to uncover these companies values and communicate them through videos that are delightful, life-changing, and easy to understand.

(Be sure to watch the video interview below!)

Josh Gott studied theology, pastored and played in several bands before joining Epipheo. He’s a voracious reader, the kind of learner who absorbs information, and communicates it with humor and passion. Josh is a master of carpentry, karaoke, and motorcycle maintenance. He possesses the beard of a bard, the mark of a born storyteller.

In this Episode, You Will Learn:The Creative Hustlers Show - Frame Freak Studio

  • Josh Gott’s Story
  • How to create great stories
  • How to deal with problematic clients
  • How to serve your clients better
  • How to become a better designer

Actionable Steps

  • Art leaves things for you to interpret, design solves problems. If you’re helping clients to do something then you’re a designer, build something that fix a problem.
  • The client is part of the solution to the question “is this good?” so don’t write them off as fools out of your ego to do what you want to do.
  • The smaller clients will usually provide the best creative and interesting work, however the biggest clients will be able to provide you with the money to sustain you for a long time.
  • There are both pros and cons when working either online or in an office, it’s important to see which one will benefit you the most over the long term.

“CLIENTS ARE NOT THERE TO BE USED FOR YOUR CASH, BE BETTER AND SERVE THEM”
