Arree Chung is an author of picture books for kids. He started as a business consultant but after meeting some artists he decided to change careers and dedicated himself into art, worked at Pixar for many years and learned a lot about the process of creating great stories and then quit his job to enter the Art Center College of Design to learn more on how to become a great artist. He started publishing his books and now he’s founded the Storyteller Academy where he can teach people online how to create and publish their own books with amazing results.

In this Episode, You Will Learn:The Creative Hustlers Show - Frame Freak Studio

  • Arree Chung’s Story
  • How to find balance in business and art
  • How create picture books
  • Tips on publishing your own books
  • Self Publishing vs Traditional Publishing

Actionable Steps

  • The internet has changed everything, technology has infiltrated our lives in every single aspect, this will allow us to connect with other artists and build our brand basically for free, the challenge is how to turn that into money and work.
  • Most common mistake is the story doesn’t connect to your audience, which is normal if you don’t know who your audience is.
  • Don’t put too many themes or too many stories into one story idea, it’s basically clutter with many concepts.
  • Beware of having too many characters, it’s better to have one or 2 really good characters that play well with each other than a lot that doesn’t make sense.
  • Do the extra work, develop your idea to make it good enough, having a dummy of your story will help you get closer to the best way to tell it.

“WE LIVE IN AN AMAZING TIME THANKS TO THE INTERNET, YOU CAN LEARN AND MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN.”
